“Above all else guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
The name Wellspring of Life comes from Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) which says, “Above all else guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” This scripture lies at the core of Wellspring of Life as we use the tool of drilling wells to provide potable water as a means to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Statistics tell us that someone dies every eight seconds from a water borne disease…these deaths are preventable simply by providing potable water! It is our goal to increase the length of life by providing potable water and to increase the quality of life by using the Gospel to change that water into the “Living water of Jesus Christ”. Our ministry also entails medical missions in Honduras and Haiti, healing bodies. Through the #7 Widow’s Mite Home we are currently growing children into God’s Disciples and it was through our well drilling efforts in Honduras that these ten children came under our care.
Our Statement of Faith
Wellspring of Life is founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inerrant and plenary Word of God! We believe in the triune godhead of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit believing them to be separate individuals and yet one in the same. We believe in the substitutionary gift of the Son, Jesus Christ; and that his death on the cross paid the price for our sins. We, also, believe that we were baptized into His death and if baptized into His death, then we were also baptized into His resurrection making us born again, new creations in Christ Jesus! We believe that”… no man comes to the Father, except the Father calls him; and that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him!” We believe that Jesus lives today and reigns with the Father in heaven, sitting at His right hand. And we believe that He is coming again to reign and to judge each of us “…according to our deeds.” We believe that God is “…the same today as He was yesterday and as He will be tomorrow…” and therefore, believe that the apostolic gifts are alive and well today.
Who We Are
Wellspring of Life was started in 1998 by Rev. Bob and Joyce Coder. The Coders lived full time in the country of Haiti for 7 years, providing fresh, clean water wells all over Haiti, sharing Christ and loving people. In 2006 Wellspring began drilling efforts part time in Honduras and in 2009, the Coders moved there full time to care for ten children they rescued from an orphanage in which they were suffering abuse and malnutrition. Wellspring of Life has been and still is governed by an all volunteer board of directors from various Christian denominations. Due to this, 90% of all our funding goes directly into the mission field and the people we serve while only 10% goes to administrative costs.
The current board members are:
Reverend Bob and Joyce Coder, Bud Karn, Keith Moretz, Mike Sawyer, John Willis, Robin Dembosk
